This was my 2020 Spring Senior project I was working to create an electric car for Cadillac that would target Younger buyers who not only want a green vehicle but who are looking to stand out from the crowd by driving a world standard vehicle from Cadillac.
The entire project began in Gravity Sketch, using the virtual space to build a frame and 3D sketch to begin to understand and translate the forms to a quick object that would be easy to alter rapidly.
After getting several quick ideas out, and working progressively on other models, five final models came to stand out among the others. These five models shared several basic forms, but each in their own way played with exaggerating certain features.
After working on these digital models and having an idea for where the form needed to go, work began on a 1/8th scale 1/2 clay model.
Shortly after the completion of this project, I found that Cadillac had just announced their newly redesigned Cadillac that they were wanting to target to younger buyers, pushing for an electric vehicle as well.
